In August 2008 Chalet Chabrand was awarded the level of "Three Keys" from Cle Vacances, a national organisation that inspects rented accommodation all over France. In the same year the chalet was also awarded the title "Gens du Pays Des Ecrins" for overall comfort and quality. This title is currently applied to less than 20 chalets and apartments in the L'Argentiere region.

UPSTAIRS
You'll find two large bedrooms. The first one (Bedroom 2) includes two singles and two bunk beds. The second bedroom (Bedroom 3) comprises two singles bed and a large wardrobe. Both bedrooms have direct access to a wide balcony that runs right round both sides of the chalet. A bathroom with shower cubicle and double hand basins, and a separate toilet complete the upstairs.

DOWNSTAIRS
You'll find a big utility room with washing machine and ample space for boots, skis and outdoor kit, a double bedroom (Bedroom 1) with an ensuite shower room, a separate toilet, and a large open plan kitchen/living room area. This includes a large sitting room complete with TV, DVD and CD players, together with a real wood fire. The dining table can seat up to 10 people, and the adjacent open plan kitchen is fully equipped including dishwasher and large fridge/freezer. A double set of French windows give access from the sitting or dining areas onto an expansive south facing patio with private garden beyond.

The chalet has a geothermic under floor heating system which gives a constant warm ambient temperature throughout the winter months.

Chalet Chabrand has its own private garden complete with a 10 seat wooden table, chairs and sun loungers. A place to relax and enjoy the superb open views looking towards Puy-St-Vincent and its stunning mountain skyline.

As with all AlpBase accommodation the chalet comes complete with lots of local information about what's on offer, including free loan of maps, guidebooks and information sheets on rock and ice climbing, mountain biking, walking, ski mountaineering and Via Ferrata. We can also arrange family multi activity courses for you run by the best guides and instructors in the Hautes Alpes.

LARGE GROUPS OR FAMILIES
If you have a large group you can rent both Chalet Chabrand and the attached but independent Apartment Meleze providing accommodation for up to 15 people. Email us for details.

Position: Chalet Chabrand is south facing, on flat ground in the centre of Vallouise, yet surrounded by spectacular scenery

Bedroom 1: One double bed (140x190cms) + ensuite
Bedroom 2: Two single beds (90x190cms each) and two bunk beds (both 90x190cms)
Bedroom 3: Two single beds (90x190cms)
N.B. A put-you-up bed can be included if necessary
