What’s
On Offer:
The primary venue for our bouldering courses is the
forest of Ailefroide, 10 minutes drive from AlpBase.com.
It is a world-class area offering a large range
of beautiful granite boulders in a tranquil alpine
setting. The likes of Jerry Moffatt, Ben Moon and
Tony Lamiche are dedicated converts to this alpine
equivalent to Fontainbleau. Expect few people,
perfect temperatures and a huge range of problems.
Your instructors are all highly qualified bouldering
experts, including French legend Francois Lombard
- two times world Rock and Ice champion. |
| Notes: |
1. Courses run Monday to Friday (5 guided
days) and the accommodation is available for you Sunday
to Saturday (arrival and departure days).
2. The all inclusive cost covers instruction, food, accommodation, transport
and bouldering mats, so there is very little else that you have to pay for.
3. The maximum guided ratio on a course is 1:4. This ratio ensures that you can
progress at your own pace and in accordance with your ability. It also means
that the course is very flexible and can be tailored exactly to your requirements.
4. Bad weather days are practically non-existent - Briançon claims 300
blue sky days a year. The conditions are very reliable, and it is rare to miss
a day’s climbing.
5. You will need to supply your own clothing, rock shoes, rucksack, water bottle
and harness.
6. Participants must arrange their own cancellation and mountain rescue insurance.
Evening social: We see the evenings as a time to relax and chill. Evening meals
are served at 7pm and afterwards there is always an opportunity for a climbing
DVD, a visit to the bar, or a slide show on one of Jerry Gore’s many expeditions
if you would prefer.
